I have a Pro Jr. Nice non-master volume amp. Sounds even better when I run it through my 1x12 cab with a Hellatone . I'm in.

Welcome to the club, Chris63

Sometimes I'll use a larger cab also. The EL 84's sound great :!:

I loved the ide of the Pro Jr, i just wish mine didn't hum and hiss. It is really unusable for a live situation - real embarassing. To think I paid over $300 for this is depressing, and I am ashamed that I didn't notice the noise in the store.

When I listen past the hum & hiss, it is potentially a great little amp.

Awesome amp. Too freaking loud when the good distortion kicks in.

I'm waiting for the Vibro-Champ XD.

I've had my Pro Jr. about 2 months now. I've replaced the stock speaker with a Weber 10A125, definitely a nice improvement, not so harsh sounding.

Last week I upgraded some of the caps and resistors using Orange Drop caps, and 1% metal film resistors, noticeably cut down on the hiss. I left all values the same as stock. There is a little bit of humm, but it's not too bad. I'll leave it alone for a while. I don't really understand The Billm mods for this, so I don't want to try it just yet, if ever.

I use the Seymour Duncan Twin tube classic with it, I really like it. I can get some nice OD and distortion without having to crank it up too loud and piss of my wife and kids.

I got one of these a few years ago, but sold it. I prefer a tube amp with a master volume.

I love my Tweed, made in the USA Pro Jr. Cranked to 5 or 7, it really opens up. When cranked, the tone control enables so much versatility in the overall dynamic of the sound and even in how the amp breaks up.

However... I'm bummed at the moment with the amp's temperament with hissing and humming. I know the electric outlets I plug into have some of the burden of blame, but even in a conditioned atmosphere, mine still hisses and hums... Is there anything I could do to repair that?

All in all, this is a great amp. I wouldn't sell it for anything. I often prefer it's tone for some things over my '65 Deluxe Reverb RI. However, like I said, I wish I could clean up the hissing...
