I have decided to buy a new amplifier to pair along with my new 08 american standard stratocaster in oly white.

I have been looking at either a reissue blues deluxe, hot rod deluxe, blues junior or a crate V50-112.

Which one do you think will sound better.

I need it to be loud enough for a decent sized club gig.

Thanks

IMO your best bet is the Blues Junior. Two reasons.
1. The Blues Junior will sound better than the deluxe at lower volumes.
2. If the BJ will not go loud enough for a particular gig, just mike it with a Shure sm57. Still cheaper than a deluxe, while being more versatile now.

I'd swing the blues deluxe RI if you can, that would be an awesome amp to add with your new strat. Sounds like you are getting a good setup either way though.

What style of music do you play? the jr series are killer too. Let us know what you decide on bro,

A jack of all trades eh? That's cool! Yes that amp should be perfect for your needs, or any kind of Fender with a nice clean sound to create your tonal palette.

Nice & pretty portable too. You can use pedals for all your dirt needs. I'm not much of a metal guy, however I bought one of those Line 6 metal pedals (uber metal) and it's pretty brutal.

Hope your amp shopping goes well dude!

Ye I think ill go with the reissue blues deluxe.

I play everything:):)

I play metal but its not the first style that comes to mind. If I need to play metal I can but I ussually just play 70's nd 60's and some good 50's. even 40's jazz and 20's slide.

But thanks

Yep I ended up with the Blues Deluxe RI since I just couldn't wait an unspecified time for a BJ to show up at the store and I am very pleased with the result.

I have it sitting on a little "Ultimate Amp stand" and that seems to have taken a lot of the window knickknacks rattling and bouncing around out of the room. :)
I guess it decoupled the amps bass frequencies from going through the floor and shaking things around.

Interesting, I never tried a amp stand before. Are they pretty cool from what you can tell so far?

Cool amp choice!

Ya it seems to work well so far, seems to be 29.99$ everywhere you look too.
The hub that holds all the legs together looks like plastic of some kind so that may be a weak point and a problem if used for giging. But for home use it looks to be great,

I sold my v32H and matching cabinet, v16, and v18. Why?
After 6 months components starting failing, and since CRATE
is essentially dead (bought by loud technologies) they're
not very enthusiastic about helping a guy out. I'd stay away
from CRATE they're pretty much dead. Any Fender will have
better resale value too. The Blues Jr. is a good amp,
i'd suggest the one with the Jenson Speaker or Celestion v30.
The Tweed NOS is awesome btw.

The amp stands are good if you're playing with people. When I've played with a band, and the amp is sitting on the floor......volume wise, it did it's job, but I couldn't hear the highs. Maybe because the amp was pointing at my feet, and not my ears. Tried the amp stand and a whole different world appeared before me. All the highs came back.

Playing by yourself......don't need an amp stand, but if you play with people.....you should probably get one, so that you can hear all of what you're playing.

I have a Blues Deluxe Reissue, and the amp is awesome. Nice, clean tone, accepts pedals well, But I mainly use it for clean stuff, jazzy sounds... I don't feel its the best for distortion.

Amp stands can be good. Try putting your amp up on to something and see how you like it, or even just tilt it back against the wall. Simply put, it will lessen the bass and bring out the mid-highs. It's more "in your face" and quacky. My DRRI can be VERY bassy at times. Sometimes I put it on a stand, sometimes I like the warm tone it has sitting on the floor. Mostly though, I like it best sitting flat on the floor, especially with some overdrive...
