Does anyone know a source where I can get a audio taper pot? I'd like to try and make the change myself.

Try this.

Be very careful, there are LETHAL VOLTAGES in there. One hand in the pocket at all times. If you don't know anything about electronics or soldering, let an amp tech do it.
Justin's whole site is a must read for anyone who owns a Hot Rod series amp.

Well my amp ended up having to go in for service to a local tech because it went quiet, and the repair verdict:.
The phase-inverter heater needed to be re-soldered.
I still think soldering tube sockets to a pcb was just not a good idea.

Are all Fender amps made in Mexico? Are some made in the USA? If so, do USA models also have a linear taper pot for the volume. I have a new Super Sonic and the volume does seem to crank up really quick. I also have a Pro Reverb from 2002 and it doesn't have that problem. How can you tell where they were made and if they have a linear taper or audio taper pot? :?

There should be a sticker or ID plate somewhere on the back of the amp case.
Identifies the amp model and where it was born.

Some Fender amp are (or were) US made, all the hotrod series are now Mexican made.
I believe but am not positive that the SuperSsonics are also Mexican made.

Thanks for the response. :) I have looked all over my Super Sonic, even took off the two back tolex plates to get a better look inside. Nothing to indicate when or where it was made. I don't have access to my Pro Reverb at the moment, my son has hijacked it. But I recall seeing USA on it somewhere. Since the volume loudness is almost maxed at 4 I would think it has a linear taper pot and if the SS is made in Mexico that is likely the case. I use a volume pedal to control it, but it would be nice to know for sure what kind of pot is has before I replace it.
