Bailey Bros in Birmingham on the Southside to be exact. I have some old friends working there who have been wanting to see/hear the Aerosmith beastie. She drew a purty big crowd during a spontanious 3 way jam with one guy on a Dual Rec 100 watt Boogie and the other on a Modern Vintage Marshall. Both amps got flat SLAUGHTERED tone wise by the little Red Prosonic head. I was playing through a Boogie Stilleto 4/12 and the Rec was into an identical 4/12 while the Marshall was on the matching Purple Marshall 4/12 with 25's. The Marshall VM IMO was flat hopelessly outclassed in this shoot out and sounded really small thin and buzzy.
The crunchs between the Boogie and Prosonic were both good but the Prosonic was noticably smoother clearer and much bigger sounding than the Boogie. Not to mention with a full 120 watts on hand it had enough sheer power to flat bury the Boogie completely at will under a wall of TONE! Everyone there was just blown away that my Prosonic was able to match the amount of gain available on the Boogie but also do it with MUCH more clarity!
All these little metal heads were just freaking out that a FENDER head was pounding the ground that hard on the bottom end with those CHUNK tones!
But it was absolutely PRICELESS the look on there faces when I hit the channel switch!
With Clean headroom that will rival a really good origional Blackface Twin it flat freaked the guys out when I flipped the channel switch over to the clean side!!
Bottom line today head to head this rig flat stomped on the best of the Boogies and Marshalls in that shop and made believers outta every one in attendance!! Before today I knew I had a really good sounding head but until I got it up head to head with tha big guns today at Baileys I had no idea just HOW good this head really was!!
All I got to say is THANK YOU BRUCE ZINKY as you flat built a MONSTER in this one bro!!
Fender ya REALLY shoulda produced this beast!!
