dear Fender specialists

I am looking to buy either the Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue or the '65 Princeton Reverb Reissue((DRRI(12"/22W) or the PRRI(10"/15W))

I use it to practice and it is in an apartment and cant be too loud.It is hard in Central Europe to find a shop where you can test both.It is not my giging amp although it may be used in small (not so loud) gigs with a very decent drummer

Could somebody be so kind answer following questions to me if tested both?

A.)What is sound difference in stock condition(high's low's).I play from Sweet Home Alabama till Parisien Walkways(or Smoke on the Water/OCDV4)Pls explain a bit

B.)What is minimum level when sound gets good(some say on the PRRI not below 5)

C.)Any differences in the Reverb?

Thanks a lot for giving me better facts ahead of final decission(play them)

Roland

PS:Pls Either PRRI or DRRI not e.g Twin Reverb or whatever is better

For the application you are speaking about, the PR is the way to go. I have both in stock condition, so I can make a comparison. On the PR, the sound or tone is great. At 4 or below you get that classic "Clean" Fender tone. Above 5 you get a nice tube distortion going, all this and the windows are not going to blow out and your neighbors won't be complaining.
Regarding the reverb, both amps share the same circuit design.

Actually even 15 watts is loud for an apartment. I would go with a Champ.

I used to gig with a PR back in the early 70s. SWEET, SWEET! I now have a DRRI. It also has great tone but so much louder. In order to get the sweet sound on the PR the amp was "dimed" (except reverb) and cleans were achieved by rolling back the guitar volume. I didn't use any pedals except for a "Maestro Phase Shifter". Guitar was a '69 ES335.
