Another question. Does anyone know if there is an adjustable bias pot on a Supersonic head? I can't see one on the outside of the chassis. The manual is useless for technical information.

Have you checked the specs on the products page for that amp?

Yes, nothing. So, I called Fender CS. The fella I talked to said the adjustable pot is inside the chassis. I'll take it apart when the tubes get here and look for it (probably mounted to the circuit board somewhere)and the positive test point so I can see what the power section is running at.

Well, I found the bias Pot, but can't find the test point! The Blues Junior clearly shows the test point on it's circuit board. I've looked at the schematics and no where can I find a TP identified as "Bias Test Point". I guess this new amp needs to go to the shop. Either that, or get one of those socket adapters.
I don't suppose anyone knows where the Bias TP is?

I'd post pics, but I think Photobucket is gone? I've been trying for days to get on.

Hi - if you know what you are doing, you can use R140 & R141 as test points in the super-sonic.

If you are like me and you are not sure what you are doing, the less risky option is the one I use, which is simply to bias by ear and by hand !!!! By ear is an old trick that was in Fender old manuals and works as follows: As you adjust the pot , more hiss will be introduced (clockwise if I remember correctly) - that is on the cold side . As you turn it back counterclock, hiss will be reduced, but your tone may sound too muddy. You need to have your guitar plugged in with volume on the SS to about 2-3. The trick is trial and error until you find that point on the adjusteable pot where there is a bigger drop in the hiss. Play it for 10-15 minutes, and if your power tubes are not glowing red while you play, that you can gently touch them without buring your fingers, and the hiss is almost gone while playigng on the vintage /clean channe;, you are all set !

Good luck !
