Hello once again one and all,

I have never had to replace tubes before in an amp, so I figured I'd ask the question here.

A buddy of mine broke a tube, shattered is more like it, in my blonde blues junior. Am I able to replace only the broken one, or should I replace all of them at once?

thanks

As far as I know, you can replace the 12AX7 tubes (the small ones) one at a time, as needed.

However, I have always heard that the power tubes, the EL84 tubes in this case, SHOULD be replaced as a matched pair.

Moreover if replacing the power tube (i.e. labelled 6L6, or 6V6),
you should seriously consider biasing properly :)

The 12AX7's can be replaced one at a time. The EL84 should be replaced as a matched set. The Blues Jr. does need to be biased.
