Actually, 2 -16 ohm speakers in parallel will give you 8 ohms total load. Somebody has it backwards.

I just saw that too -- rjake is right. Series adds, parallel divides. The way to think about it is that if they're in series, the current has to travel though both together so it "adds up." In parallel, the current divides between the two.

If you have to buy a set, the one advantage to parallel is that if you blow one speaker, the other is still working. 4 X cabs usually have two sets of two speakers in series combined in parallel with each other.

Got my superchamp about a month ago and I love it.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me would it be possible to go from the line out of the scxd to the input of a frontman 212 without doing any damage?
Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks.

You should be able to use a TS cable to go from the LINE OUT of the Super Champ to the PWR IN on the Frontman 212R - that's what I get by looking at their manuals - see page 6 of each manual.

212R - http://www.fender.com/support/manuals/pdfs/manuals_elec/guitarpdf/Frontman_212R_764CAX007a.pdf
SCXD - http://www.fender.com/support/manuals/pdfs/manuals_elec/guitarpdf/Super_Champ_XD_737CKW009c.pdf

Hope this helps,

Sorry dude, you'll have to go with the 16 ohm load unless your amp has a 4 ohm output. Go to the Rockford/Fosgate website. They have a chart/calculator that will tell you any ohm load with almost any speaker combination.

Just so nobody messes up their amp.
The quote above is backwards.
It should be;

2 8 ohm loads in series = 16 ohms
2 8 ohm loads in parallel = 4 ohms

Twin ten cabs at 16 ohms (2 8 ohm speakers in series) are plenty loud with the Super Champ, especially with Ragin' Cajuns, because they're design to be easily driven by lower wattage amps. In Fact I don't hear a difference in Volume at all. If you want a twin 10 cab that's 8 ohms you need to wire two 16 ohm speakers in parallel. For some reason Ragin Cajun speakers are only available at 8 ohms. The reason I have my two twin 10 cabs at 16 ohms is I can hook my two 16 ohm twin tens together (Parallel) for a 410 setup that is 8 ohms.

Guys as I said in another topic I tried my SCXD with a very cheap Laney 2x12 cab. I was totally amazed. The same sound but more "filling the room " even in small volumes. it was getting much lower without loosing crispnes. If i spoke English better i would explain it better for you, but anyway just have in mind that it's AMAZING !!!
Greetings from Greece...

My exact same experience. . . it fills the room now at even lower volumes! I still have a week to decide whether or not this amp is a keeper and I've already bought a Fender GE-412 cab for it. Not the best cab, but for $125 used and in good condition (after cleaning it up and painting the grill ha) it was worth it because it sounds so fn amazing now that this amp is not going anywhere now. I can't believe how much fun it is.

And to think that last month I was stuck with the worst amp on the planet. Yes a Spider III 120 and I was so down and out trying to get my tone and finally gave up and sold for half price and bought this baby and now with the cab FTW a turn around. Talk about trading UP!!!

I guess it was finally my turn for a little good luck.

Anyway, I was thinking about a speaker upgrade, but thought that this way just made more sense. I can keep my amp unmodded and unvoided and stock and have the best of both worlds with a cab.

SCXD just gets better!!!
