I recently bought a TB-600 head. I'm playing Fender MIA Deluxe and Standard Jazz V's and I think these basses really come alive through this amp (although that shouldn't come as a surprise). The tone of this amp is warm and full. The passive tone stack is a powerful and musical eq, but it does take some getting used too. Small adjustments make big differences and each knob affects the other. I also find that changing the eq on my Deluxe also has a big affect on the tone stack. The amp response is pretty quick but you will notice that the response slows when the overdrive is engaged, but this will depend on how much of it you blend in with the clean signal. You can also turn the clean signal all the way down and just have the overdrive on.

I think the overdrive is great. It has a smooth top end, edgy without being harsh (like 99.9999% of stomp boxes). The overdrive doesn't get extreme though so if you want a heavy fuzz or metal style distortions you'll need a pedal.

The Vari Q works nicely and does add a modern edge to the vintage tone of this head. I like using it to shape the overdrive sound. The overdrive and Vari Q switches are located next to each other on the foot switch and they can be switched on or off simultaneously with ease (probably not a coincidence).

The tuner seems to work quite well. The tuner circuit is actually in the amp itself so I don't know why they don't include the foot switch, especially as these amps aren't cheap. The FX loop is switchable, but only if you buy the foot switch.

I'm using this amp with an Acme Low B4 so I wont comment on the sound of the TB-600 combo.

I love the sound, character and features off this amp. It screams rock to me and that's want I wanted, but the tonal versatility of the passive tone stack combined with the Vari Q can take it way beyond just that. I would recommend this amp to anyone (don't forget to buy the foot switch).
