Hi Hans,

We thought about that quite bit. Our rationale was that if you clicked on one of the presets, you were going to go to something quite different, we did not think you would want stay near the same selection, so we did not build in a selection memory. As a result, the list starts from the top. As we tested, I supposed we got very used it, it never bothered us so we never designed a last view memory. I also got into the habit of building many Player's Lounges and I typically stack about 20 of my favorite preset in the first 20 memory locations. I hope this explains why we did that way - we didn't think it would matter, we got used to it, and then i typically used the first 20 Player's lounges.

Ok, we'll put into our "let's think about it bucket".

Many thanks for your feedback. Just for the record, we spent about 8 months testing, correcting, retesting. Only after months of zero defect testing did we declare stability and ready for customers. Our thoughts were that if Cyber Commander ever got used on stage, a "hiccup" would be totally unacceptable - performance has to be perfect everytime and that's what we focused on.

ciao,
john.

Johnny,

Thanks, I'll see what comes out.

I know about your efforts for the CC SE. It is a fabulous product. It puts the whole CT SE to your fingertips in a single page user interface.
The interface is simple and clear to use. Even for me with my single eye, that causes a delay when I have to pinpoint/find a item on a filled computerscreen, II find what I'm looking for in a second.
My two screen setup makes it great fun to use. On the left CC SE and on the right screen my recording software.
Fantastic.

Huh ... John, just to clarify. The thing I reported above was positive.

There was no "hiccup" with CC SE, even though it was given several 'commands' in, what probably was, about a second of time, or less.

Given what happened, I thought it proved that CC SE was extremely stable. I seriously doubt that anyone would be changing settings as fast as my 'nervous' finger was tapping. And CC still stayed with what it was told to do, and came through still working fine.

If I had a newer, faster computer (with a better OS) - it probably would have been done by the time I stopped my 'tapping'.

The reason I think any hesitation was computer and OS related is, all my software was noticeably slower with all of the media center portion available. I disabled enough of it to get the midi interface working, but didn't go to the trouble of disabling all of the media center part. Not only did CC speed up, but all my programs work faster now.

I still think this computer should be even faster than it is now. With a 2.19Ghz processor and 1gb of ram, it is about as fast as a 486 120 I once had. It was even slower before doing the mod on the media center part. This computer has been a disappointment since we bought it. I now think it's mostly due to MS Windows Media Center Edition taking up so much of available resources.

Again - my post WAS NOT a complaint, in any way, about CC SE.
I think it's a great program! :D

Oh boy, Rholloman,

I what I meant to say was that, many, many months ago (over a year I think), we decided we would test CC to the extreme before we would offer it for sale. Not everyone knows this, but I know you do! Our philosophy was that users cannot be beta testers, especially if they go onstage!!! So we tested the hell out of CC just to make sure it wouldn't fail in customers' hands. That was one of the reasons we were late - we wanted to establish 6 months of no problems whatsoever under stress test before we declared victory and release. I know we were pretty hard on ourselves, but we just couldn't release a product with bugs - it had to have no bugs and the only way to be sure was to beat it under continuous stress test. We have many test scripts that do that, not to mention me and some the dances i did on the floot controller - that's how i know the foot controller is tough! Deepest apogolies for any misunderstanding!!!!! Was NOT directed at you, just a statement of what we decided to impose on ourselves!

One other thing, the hesitation was probably due to CC sending commands to the CT and the CT responding slowly. We have a rather deep buffer but we are also able to slave windows to run in real time - that's a trick of the trade. If you try the foot controller, you will see instant response - remember, the foot controller now goes through CC then to the CT, it's CC that drive the CT (not the foot controller).

Ciao,
John.

hi everyone,

nearly forgot to mention that the SE and CT preset lists, both Your Amp and Fender Custom Shop are available at
http://www.generalcybersystems.com/ress ... resets.pdf
and
http://www.generalcybersystems.com/ress ... resets.pdf

One more thing, when you use Cyber Commander to get to your presets, the one thing you don't have to do is twirl the knob and have your CT cycle the relays as the relays switch circuits on and off. It's never a good thing to cycle circuits. Cyber Commander saves a lot of wear and tear on your CT.

Ciao,
john.

at least.. I knew and disliked.. Kept thinking I was the only one

Hi Hans!!!

It might sound sacreligious, but software fixes hardware these days, or at least compensates for hardware shortcomings. A confession: am an electrical eng and have done things like this when too expensive to fix the hardware... Always understood CC would prevent such damage and then I forget to tell everyone about it!!!

By the way, some very nice music on your site. I think you and Ramon play beautifully. Both your melodies just about scream for some song attached to them. I can't write lyrics (would give it a shot if i could) maybe some one out there reading this might - I hope.

Ciao,
John.

Stunned to hear the foot controller being discontinued

I just got your software a few days ago and it works perfectly so far !
I have been using the Roland FC-300 foot controller .... everything I've tried to do has worked and it's built like a Russian tank.

Now .. my only caveat with the software .. I use one of my computers as a "test" computer.. ie: all software and hardware is run through this before it goes where I like it...
However .. with your current EULA I can't move it. .... any way to deactivate it on the computer it's on now and reactivate it on the laptop?

Maybe consider changing your EULA to two installations ... I think most people only have one Cyber Twin to use with it anyway.

Just an FYI

I found that the foot controller is still on the Fender site.
At http://www.fender.com/products//search. ... 2391000000

Also found that Guitar Trader has an ad on their site for the foot controller.
They are out now, but list a date when more should come in. So, it sounds like to me (just my opinion from finding this) that some store just quit handling them, but Fender still has them. Which is good news for us CT SE owners.

If this isn't correct - would someone from Fender please give use the straight scoop.?
