Many Thanks Hans. :) You're very kind.

If you happen to remember the other song, would you please let me know. I don't want to take another persons work, even by accident.

well deserved.

No worries, I was referring to the feel and mood. not exact notes. So your in the clear.

Listened to my "Memories of what could have been" already ? I'm curious what you think of my sidestep from the blues. :)

Thanks! That's quit a compliment! Thanks again!

If you want to write some lyrics for it, please do. I would like to see/hear what would come from it.

Well ... as it turns out .. I have listened to it. And, I am listening to it again as I type this reply.

I like all your work that I have heard. And this one is no exception. I have noticed that each new piece you post seems to be a bit better than the one before. None were bad. They all are good. You're sound seems to be getting more refined. One could say like gold after being refined, and that would be appropriate too - getting more pure.

What I especially like about "Memories of what could have been"(SE) is the Clapton like sound you get with those single coils.

BTW .... The song still seems like some mighty fine blues to me. Just a different feel.

I have CCT for my original version Cyber-Twin, and I think it's great.

I have a M-Audio Uno USB connector, so in my case I had to buy a 5-pin MIDI coupler ($3.99 at Radio Shack) for the MIDI loop test. The purpose of this test to ensure your MIDI device is working with your PC.

After opening CCT, connecting my CT to my computer with the Uno, and turning on my CT. The software recognized the CT and loaded C00 Stadium Rock (the first preset in Fender Custom Shop).

Image

As you can see all the parameters of the preset are displayed and easy to read. The next thing I did was press the 'Build Player's Club', and backed all my custom presets to my computer.

Beside the great GUI interface for editing, the most important feature of CCT, is that a CT or CT-SE owner can backup their custom presets to their computer.

If the logic chip, or circuit board fails in the your CT/CT-SE, you WILL lose all your custom presets when you have it repaired. IF you have the CCT software, you'll be able to input the your custom presets back into your CT/CT-SE.

Thanks a lot for listening and giving your opinion. Yours was important to me :)

It looks like I'm getting used to recording. I totally forgotten about this style..... Used a slightly edited version of the earcandy preset for this one.

Thanks again.

I took a screen shot, pasted it in Photoshop, unloaded to Photobucket, and pasted the img source code here.

It was alright to post the image?

You bet it's alright! I wanted to post a screen shot of the SE version. I hope some Fender engineers swing by and take a look!

Ciao,
Johnny.

This is what Cyber Commander SE looks like when it is connected to the Cyber Twin SE and the Cyber Foot Controller. Notice the foot controller is alive and reflecting exactly what the FC is doing.

On the left, just below the knobs, you can save or get any preset or Player's Lounge from PC files or the Cyber twin. As you can see, it does alot. One of the nicest features is storing single presets, it stores binary and txt files. Example text files provided above by HalfBlindLefty. Cyber Commander can read them back is as txt files - you do not have to type things out again, just output and read files - very easy on the nerves.

The buttons Build Player's Lounge and Build MIDI Map open up graphical editors and they allow you to very quickly build up many Player's Lounges and many MIDI Maps, and store these to files or the Cyber Twin, or both as you wish.

Ciao,
Johnny.

Now that's pretty neat! With the controller pedals green too.

Has anyone confirmed for a certainty if Fender discontinued that Foot Controller, or was it just discontinued from stock at some music stores?

Anyone else finding this CC editor program is nice to use while playing? One feature John pointed out to me is nice if you like different sets of presets for different music. And that is the build players lounge. I now have different players lounge presets for the two different styles I like the most - that being blues and surf.

(edited for: that should be two different arrangements of presets - with favs at the top)

And as Tony pointed out, you can save individual presets. But if I'm understanding what I think I've learned here - you can save everything in the players lounge to a file too - all the settings to all the presets. Have I got that right John?

If that's right - it opens up some possibilities.

Yes that right.

BTW, as you use the pedals, the green bars go up and down in real time to indicate the volume or the effect's presence. No lags whatsoever, all real-time. Ditto for the buttons and program number. We emulate exactly what the Cyber Foot Controller does in real time. BTW, it's also a great way to de-bug a faulty pedal - if the bars don't go up and down with foot movement, excellent chance the pedal is busted or MIDI cable busted. We designed our software for use on stage in real time.

Just under the Gain, Volume, Treble knobs, there's a Single Presets and a Player's Lounge window. In each, there's a Get From Amp, Save To Amp, Get From File and Save To File button.

The upper half of Cyber Commander (CC) from Master Control knobs upwards are all about creating the "current setting". As you experiement with the current setting, you may want to save it. The best way to do this is to use the Single Presets Save To File or Save To Amp buttons (just below the Gain and Volume Master Control knobs).

In the Single Presets, whatever Cyber Commander (CC) is set to in the upper half including the all the Master Control knobs and the Expression Pedal and Continuous Controller, if you click on Save to File, CC will save all current settings to two "single preset" files, a binary and a txt file. If you click on Save to Amp, the current preset will be save in one of the Player's Lounge's (P00 to P99) memory locations - you will have to specify which location. If you click on Get From File, a dialogue will pop open and you merely select the single preset file from your PC. Once selected, both CC and the CT will be automatically set to it. A Get From Amp will reload the "Active Preset" into CC. The Active Preset is the current selection in your CT (P00 to P99, A00 to A49, and C00 to C99).

In the Player's Lounge, the same sort of thing happens, except it's for the entire Player's Lounge (all preset from P00 to P99). When you click on Get From Amp, CC will fetch the CT's Player's Lounge and load it into CC. If you do a Get From File, a dialogue will pop open and you get to choose a Player's Lounge stored on your PC. After you pick a Player's Lounge from your PC, CC will load itself with and ask you if you want to send it to the CT. If you answer yes, CC will then writte this Player's Lounge to the CT - please note this will overwrite the CT's Player's Lounge. If you click on Save To File, CC will write its Player's Lounge to your PC. If you click on on Save to Amp, CC will write its Player's Lounge to the CT (overwriting the Player's Lounge in the CT).

For FIRST TIME users of CC, when it comes to the Player's Lounge do this:
1. Do a Player's Lounge Get From Amp - this will ensure both the CT and CC have the same Player's Lounge (every time CC starts up and is connected to your CT, CC will download your CT's Player's Lounge automatically. I have included this step as a confidence builder).
2. IMMEDIATELY Do a Player's Lounge Save To File - save to file like "MY ORIGINAL PLAYERS LOUNGE". You have now backed up your CT's Player's Lounge to a file called "MY ORIGINAL PLAYERS LOUNGE" on your PC.

Once you have backed up your Player's Lounge, you can start building as many Player's Lounges as you like. I would suggest using the Build Player's Lounge button and using all the files stored on your PC to build whatever Player;s Lounges you want and save them on to your PC. Use either existing Player's Lounges or Single Presets to build the Player's Lounge - the editor gives you that freedom to create the final Player's Lounge Build. Once done, save it to PC (should always save to PC) and to your CT if you wish. Mix'n'match your Player's Lounges to your desire. Once out of Build Player's Lounge, load CC and the CT by using the above buttons: Player's Lounge Get From File and synchronize the CT to it (i.e. loading the CT with it).

You have tremendous flexibility to save individual single presets and entire Player's Lounges, and a powerful Build Player's Lounge editor to create as many Player's Lounges as you like (from Single Presets and/or Player's Lounges on your PC), and then load them into the CT as you wish, all one click away. No other editor on earth gives you this kind of flexibility and power.

Well that's a mouthful. Experiement with CC, it has tremendous capability, we designed it to be a "one to two mouse click" operation, focused on easy to use.

Ciao,
John.

I'm still "discovering" things about the CC since I posted my impressions of it. I guess those should be labeled "First Impressions"

I did something (or had something happen) that turned out to show the program was very stable. I was just clicking on something (I've forgotten what now) , and I had an unexpected strong sneeze. That caused me to do a very fast multiple 'tap' on the mouse. Well, the CC stopped for an instant, then flickered through a few things, then settled right down, and operated like nothing had happened. I have had that to happen with some other software and it crashed the program. And still others it has locked up the program. But all I needed to do with the CC was reload the preset I had up on the screen (some values had been changed).

Maybe no one else would have that happen while working with a program, but it has happened to me on more than one occasion. (I don't know if it's allergies, or maybe it's getting close to 'cold' and 'flu' season) After that little episode, my impression is that the CC is rock solid stable.
(you should hear what it does for speeding up my picking, if I'm playing guitar at the time  )

As it turns out, the CC commander has saved me from doing a factory reset.

I managed to get the same patch set on preset button 3 and 4.
Great.... (*not) 2 lights on, when selecting either of them.. @#$$#$%

I used CC to assign a different preset to number 4 and what wouldn't work on the ct se itself, (kept assigning the patch to both 3 and 4) worked great.

pfffffffff sigh.... :)

Johnny. A remark to the CC SE:
When selecting a preset in the ui, the selection always starts art the same point. (top of [&current] list) In stead of starting at the current active preset it puts you at the top of the list, clearing the current preset from the selection box.

I don't know how others feel about this, but I would like to have it using the current preset and start from there.

GREAT PRODUCT by the way :)

/Hans
