Dear All,

We have come a very, very long way. Our site www.generalcybersystems.com is nearly ready for prime time. I thought we would be up today, but it looks more like Monday. The work we have left to do is final checkout of the products, their installation and activatation, manuals, etc. Our webpages are complete. We all need some sleep and we need do the final checks with clear heads tomorrow.

Please note the webpages you see at www.generalcybersystems.com today will be replaced with new ones we are working on. What we are preparing is not visible to you at this time. The new pages will be very similar, and a lot more complete. We also will have to drop the forum and the file trading post for now. Once we get on our feet, we will bring back the file trading post. Right now, we are focused on getting the site up and running.

There will be three products:
1. Cyber Commander CT for the original Cyber Twin
2. Cyber Commander SE for the Cyber Twin SE
3. Cyber Viewer for display and print the Player's Lounge.
All of the software is for Windows-based PCs, apologies to all Apple users.

The extras we recommend are the Edirol UM-2EX MIDI to USB device interfaces, one for the Cyber Twin and another for the Foot Controller. And don't forget the MIDI cables, two to connect the Cyber Twin and one more for the Foot Controller.

After these products, we have several more in the pipeline involving the Cyber Twin amplifiers. More on that later...

many thanks,
johnny.

I have an E-MU XMIDI1x1 I purchased recently to use with my new G-DEC 30 and it works great!!!
Can I also use this to interface with your Cyber Commander SE for my Cyber Twin SE?

johnny stecchino, aka JohnnyStrat

The folks at the FDP are a very good group of people with lots of integrity.
They run a clean shop.

After 10 months of you posting there about how you were writing the editor, why did the FDP suddenly delete your thread on creating a Cyber-Twin Editor & remove your posting priviliges?

please understand the issue is between me and FDP. it would do no good to anyone to discuss it openly. so for now, and for as long as the Fender will allow me, i'll post all my contributions in this forum and serve you and Fender Forum (this one) the best way i can.

update on the site:
1. all webpages double checked today,
2. problem with e-commerce fixed, took better part of the day
3. fixed product activation script (linked to e-commerce)

remaining work:
1. recheck product installers
2. simulate e-commerce
3. actual dry runs (test the entire site stem to stern, you need to be well served)
4. switch over web page and open the shop.

i really thought we would be open today, the e-commerce snag caught us. in truth, we are nearly done, it's so very, very close.

and to all friends and supporters, a big THANK YOU!

ciao,
johnny.

oops nearly forgot the the question on the UM-1EX. Yes it will work BUT you will need a loop-back cable with two female ends. the reason is that the software will ask you to perform a loop back test connecting the MIDI input to the MIDI output. without a loop back cable, the loop back test will not pass and the software will never get past the first step. it needs to have a positive pass to go forward - it has to be sure the MIDI device(s) is (are) actually working on your PC.

The way the setup part works is:
1. the MIDI devices are tested and identified when the inputs and outputs are connected. this is real easy to do with a UM-2EX or a UM-3EX. These have female connectors and the any MIDI cable can be used to connect the input and output ports.

2. once the MIDI devices and cables are checked out by the software, the next step is to connect Cyber Twin and Foot Controller.

3. the software will then automatically setup all MIDI communications between amp, footcontroller and PC.

TA-DA - done.

Ciao,
Johnny.

Hi Volume,

Many, many thanks for your support!

If you get the chance, i would recommend browsing through the manual, section 8.3.10, and chapters 6 and 7.

ciao,
johnny.
