Hi all. Am a newbie here. Just bought a Fender Hotrod DeVille 212 from a pawn shop here in Charleston, SC. Since it is used, I wondered if the age of the amp could be told via the serial number? It doesnt have a scratch on it - looks brand new - so I am guessing it is pretty new, only a year or so old is my guess, but wanted to find out. Serial # is B-152054.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks so much. Was looking for those letters that the link talked about, and whoever pawned the amp left a Darelectro Black Coffee footswitch in the back of the amp. Have never heard of that - will have to look it up - unfortunately, it had no power plug with it.
But back to the age and the numbers. Is the black and silver sticker the link refers to the one that has the serial number on it, or the one where someone has checked off on it? If its the one who checked off on it, it looks like the initials are MB, which would put the date as Feb, 2002. If thats the case, whoever had this thing really took care of it.
One other question. Is there anyway for me to be able to tell how recently the tubes have been changed on this thing?
Thanks so much for the help.

I think (if I remember right) you are correct on the age, as far as the tubes the only way I know how old or good they are is to take them to someone who has a tube tester and have them checked. I don't know if there are markings on the tubes themself dating them. Good luck! 8)
