I sold My tolex standard Fender Blues Junior and Bought a tweed NOS Fender Blues Junior. I was unsure about this move because I loved my original Blues Junior however after playing the NOS, it allows more of the lows to shine through and it does not sound muddy. On with the pictures...

You did the right thing my friend. I have one just like it and bought it for a pratice amp, but now I use it more than my 65 TR RI. It's a great little amp for the price range and tone that does not quit. 8)

It looks like you've done some great modding on your BJ nonetheless.

So, after a couple of days playing the new amp., what do you think? I've also been looking at the Blue's Jr NOS and was pretty much blown away in the music store. It was actually pretty loud. I didn't play the regular Blues Jr., do you think the amp is worth the extra loot?

Really nice. I've almost pulled the trigger on getting a Blues Jr a number of times.

Enjoy!

I did the same thing some time ago. I also like the sound of my Blues Jr. NOS better than the standard Blues Jr. Not to mention that tweed covering is gorgeous.

The price difference is about $100.00 around here. The whole thing started because I was going to get a new speaker to replace the eminence that was in the tolex. For the price of a new speaker I got the NOS that had the good Jensen C12 and the NOS tubes and the awesome look of the lacquered tweed.

No brainier in my opinion.

Here is a sound comprassion.
