I am trying to decide between the Blues Jr. NOS & the PRRI. Just picked up a Custom Classic Strat. I have been learning guitar for less than 2 years. Just need a low watt easy to use tube amp for the basement. Clean sound is important & maybe some crunch when it is time. I play classic rock. Thanks.

I'd go with the Blues Jr. because of the cost/ low wattage/loud/ tube breakage and the fat switch. Most for less money to me but I'm sure their are lot of different opinions. 8)

I like my Blues Jr a lot. The only complaint (perhaps it is only taste, not complaint) is that some effects pedals sound muddy through it. I have found what I have been looking for, however, and I have always been happy with my Blues Jr. I can turn it up to about 5-6 inside my house and not kill my family with the noise. I like it a lot.

Hello Bender1,

Blues jr. for me, but I can
tell you that Princeton reissue
has a wee bit better
classic Fender clean sound.
It also has a way better
reverb/tremolo thing going on.

Best of luck on your choice.

Cheers.

Hey Bender. I own the PRRI and AB'd it against the Blues Junior. Based on what you said about your experience and playing style, I'd go with a Blues Junior. Its an amp for life. I know lots of guys who have bouht one for the basement and later took it giggin in small venues or mic'd for larger venues. In fact, I was at V-Fest in Toronto and Noel from Oasis was playing through a mic'd Blues Junior. I think its great value.

Thanks for all of your assistance. Today I brought home the Blues Jr. NOS & the PRRI. PRRI is cleaner. NOS sounds boxy. More choices of sounds with the NOS. Is the PRRI worth $300.00 more - Canadian? Still trying to make the right choice.
