I'm using an SCXD to drive my HRD 410, and it's a great sound. My question is whether running the line out of SCXD into a guitar input on the HRD is going to harm the HRD?
I've also tried running the line out of the SCXD into the power amp input of the HRD, and that works too, but I like being able to control the relative volumes between the two amps.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
ST

Ive considered doing the same with my vibrochamp xd into my jcm800.
I was planning on running it into the effects return. I dont know about fender valve amps but with marshall the volume control is right on the power amp so would still be operational as would the presence control.

Ive done this kind of trick with peavey's and even a 1watt marshall headphone amp (great acdc sound), im not sure of the fenders levels on the lineout so im a little cautious to try it. Is the champxd like the vibroxd with a solidstate pre-amp section, if so i cant see it doing any harm, it would be just like running a drive pedal straight into the power amp.

Ok, Fender amp gurus, please advise: by running the line output signal from a Super Champ XD into an instrument input [either one] of a Hot Rod Deville, I get an awesome sound, particularly since I can alter it with with the controls of both amps. This gives me more flexibility than running the SCXD line out to the HRD power amp input, or just using the SCXD speaker out to drive the HRD speakers [although both of those options work as well].
When I look at the line output specs of the SCXD and the instrument input specs of the HRD, however, I am concerned whether I am overdriving the input of the HRD to the point that it may be damaged.
They're both great amps, and I don't want to damage my HRD.
Can someone please advise?
Thanks,
ST

I would like to know the answer to this a well. I did this just to see what would happen and the tones I got were quite tasty. I liked going through the instrument in as there was more control. Going through the power amp in was very loud and not usable unless at a gig, which I then would use my pedals.
