Spent a lot of time last night listening to sound clips from the various Eminence guitar speakers.
And I changed my mind :)

In another post I mentioned I was planning to swap the stock speaker out in the soon (hopefully) to arrive Blues Junior for a Cannabis REX.
But after a lot of going over the sound clip samples, that speaker sounds to clean clear and clinical to me.
From all the samples I think I like the sound of the Swamp Thang the most.

You can listen to the various speaker sound clips here:
http://www.eminence.com/soundclips.asp

My buddy who mostly plays a Les Paul standard goldtop through a Blues Deluxe is thinking of doing a similar swap from the stock fender speaker, but he is torn deciding between the Eminenec Red White & Blue and the Swamp Thang.

For a while I also considered the Raptor from "Warehouse Guitar Speakers" Has a different not bad sound but the Swamp Thang seems to sound "blueseir".

Anyway any others who have done speaker updates?
What options did you decide on?

Chet always says to listen to scumback speakers. Give them a listen at www.scumbackspeakers.com I think thats the right site, if not contact CaFeathers on this site. Hope this helps :)

Great thanks!
More to look through before I place an order after the long weekend is over!

The baskets look deep on the scumbacks, might not fit in the small BJ case!
Hopefully someone here who tried it here knows that answer!

Thanks!
They looked similar shaped to the "Red Fang" and I've been warned that that one won't fit in the BJ case.

Hard to gustimate size & depth looking at web pics :P

Go listen to the sound bites for the M75 and H75. The 25 or 30 watt speaker would work great! The Blues Jr. is a 15 watt amp and will push the low wattage speakers perfectly.

Both are excellent speakers, I really don't think you would be disappointed in either one.
