Wish I had an amp like that.

Maybe.........maybe, just maybe......I might be able to put my guitar through, an amp like that.

I told you if you wanna plug into it get in touch and we'll set up a day for you to come over and try it.

I was waiting till you got over your surgery. If you want to do that.......just let me know. I'm retired, and have no life, no women, no friends, or anything.....so I'm absolutely free. (I might be scaring him by now-does it sound like begging?) You know my email address. Syeklops@comcast.net

I suck on the guitar......but then....I was once told......"if you know three chords, I'll play with you". My response......"I know four".

Let me check my schedule.............................I'm pretty much open to days also.

I'm a hack at guitar.

Ok.........no problem.....I have no life.......I'm very flexable....... I'm tied up this week, but anytime after that. As you know.....I go back and forth between the mountains.....but that shouldn't come up soon. So.....don't rush......no pressure....whenever you want. I can play three chords....so think country.....even I can do that. Or rock.........with three chords. Wait.....I know four.........

You're only a 20 minute drive from me...so no problem.........if.........and only if.....you think you can tolerate me.......

Hack......yeah right.....I'm bringing a paper bag to leave as......the unknown guitar player.........

Days are good for me. I have no job and no life. I promise.......I'm not a stalker............

Now.....do I bring a guitar, or just a visit?????????

I use NOS tubes in my Blues Jr. Mullard's, RCA's are 2 brands I use. I also put a 5751 in V-1
I'm in the same situation as the TS. What effect does the 5751 in V-1 have compared to the original? Thanks.

The 5751 is known as the Blues Tube. It takes just a little bit of the bite/edge out of a 12AX7.

Also good to know. I may do that on my Vibroverb when it's time to see how it effects it. For now i just want to tweek some tone out of the BJ. I really like that little bugger.

Check out this site for retube kits for the Blues Jr.
https://ssl.eurotubes.com/cart/index.php?page=view_products&category_id=7&sub_category_id=31
It is a secure site, so it's ok to go to.

My choice for BJ tubes replacement is:
5751 in V1 (Mil spec tube with 70% gain of the stock 12ax7)
12AX7 in V2
12AT7 in V3 (60% gain of stock 12ax7)
EL84 matched pair power tubes.

JJ, Mullard, Philips, RCA, TungSol all make good tubes, depends what you can afford, some of these brands can be quite pricey. Especially if you go for the NOS.

Replacing all the tubes is the second update I will make to the BJ, this will also give me a spare set of all the tubes for emergency use .

Found some interesting info on tube tests done at the Billm Blues Junior mods page.

Main Billm Blues Junior mods page (Danger doing any of these will kill your warranty and might give you a very major shock)

Will the eurotubes work in North America?
The line voltage in Europe is 220V.
