Hey all. I’m new here and have a huge question that hopefully someone can help me out with.

So I have a Fender Champion 100w solid state combo amp and really would like to have it as just a head to pair with my 4x12 8ohm Marshall Cab. Does anyone know if making modifications is possible? And if not what’s the closest amp head out there to a Fender champ that I should look into?

Thanks

What is the impedance of your Marshall cab ? 16 ohms ?

Yes, the stock (factory) Champion 100 setup has two 16 ohm speakers wired in parallel to create an 8 ohm load for the amp. So it should work if you use your other speakers, which you say is a total of 8 ohms. I would not use both.
This would require you disconnect the white and black wires coming from the amp and connect them to your other speakers. The ends of the wires have speaker connects on them. I would leave them as-is so you could reconnect them to the internal speakers as needed.
The issue is how to connect up your new speaker cable to these speaker connections. Maybe you could make your own slip-on metal tabs to make the connections. Make sure you use similar speaker wire and isolate the connections from each other and any other metals. On my amp the white wire is the positive polarity.
