Woo-hoo... I now have a solid backup amp to my beautiful Boss Katana amp. My old Fender Frontman 65r amp had fizzled out (you remember...) and sounded like a swarm of angry bees, instead of a clear, bright, shimmering, electric guitar tone.

As seen this video, I had taken it all apart, cleaned it all out, sprayed Ballistol on the input jacks, etc... and carefully put it all back together again. It doesn't have all the cool features of the Boss Katana with 5000 built in guitar effects, USB computer connections, MIDI capability, etc... but at least the old Fender Frontman 65r works again! Thank God I inherited a little bit of my dad's knowledge of electronics, circuit boards, transistors, capacitors, input/output systems, etc...

LOL... I just told that to my wife too! I either need one of those AB-Y switches, and run either one or both simultaneously, or pick up a true stereo pedal. Hmmm... I just need to get a good understanding on how to set up both amps together.

No offense to Fender (love you guys, since the 70's!) -- but let's be honest here. That new Boss Katana amp blows the Fender Frontman away.

Fender: 65 watts, clean & gain channels, w/reverb.

Boss: 0.5 watts, 50 watts, 100 watts (selectable). 5 amp types (acoustic, clean, crunch, lead, brown), common knobs: gain, volume, treble, mid, bass, presence, master volume, etc... But also has built in "Boss Pedals" with selectable switches and knobs. Chorus/Flanger/Phaser and 3 type of delay w/ tap tempo, and the main reverb knob, which also has selectable type of reverb (plate, spring, hall). Plug in the USB cable to your computer, go to the main Roland website and download the new Boss Tone Studio software (Windows 10, Apple/Mac), and your mind will be blown! You literally see the entire control panel of the amp on your computer. Whatever you want it to do, it will do. You don't want the Boss DS-1 pedal? Okay, fine... Choose - Fuzz. Choose - Metal Zone. Choose - Whatever... Click... Save... Done!
Bank A: Channel 1, 2, 3, 4 (four different amp channels & tones)
Bank B: Channel 1, 2, 3, 4 (four different amp channels & tones)
A whopping total of 8 programmable amp sounds, channels, tones, simulators, etc... Pfffftttt... who needs pedals anymore?
