I had posted this question on an old thread but thought it might be better to start a new one.
This question is for any Fender Deluxe 85 amp owners:
I bought mine new in either '88 or '89 can't remember but anyway with the amp set on channel 1 I cannot turn the volume knob any higher than 1 or it is just too loud for late night bedroom practice, does anyone else experience this with theirs?
It's a great little amp but man oh man it is loud.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

I don't have that amp, but your best solution might be to populate the headphone jack with some decent studio headphones.

The truth is it's set up in a spare bedroom with our desktop pc that I use to jam along with yt videos; lately have been getting into vintage surf guitar songs from my generation i.e. Pipeline, Walk Don't Run, etc. and it has been a fun learning experience.

The Deluxe 85 has preamp send/power amp in jacks.

Carl's/JHS volume pot in a box was originally designed for this express purpose -- to tame abrupt response at low volume. Putting a volume control in the loop will give you a much broader range between "silent" and "too loud".

Yeah that is definitely worth considering.
