Hi All - Newbie here

I play in a covers band, with the majority of our material being in the pop/funk style, think Nile Rogers etc. I've had various amps over the years, mostly modelling amp heads to allow me to flex styles etc, however I'm looking to downscale to a nice combo that will give me all the clean headroom I need to get that crisp, funk tone, but also can take pedals/fx for when I need to change it up.

I was having a look at the Bassbreaker 18/30, or maybe the 45, but would be greatful for your thoughts on:

- Which of the current Combo series would suit that pop/funk style
- Would the 18/30 be big enough for a regular pub gig, or would I have to step up to the 45.
- For bigger venues, would I be able to power a 4*12 Cab from the line-out?

Cheers
Mark

18/30 watts is plenty. I have three 15 watt amps (Blues Jr., Pro Jr., and Super Champ X2 head/cabinet) all of which have no problem keeping up with drums at small to mid venues.

The 18/30 has EL84's and the 45 has EL34's...so you have to decide what sound YOU like for your playing style and music.

Here is a pretty good "shoot-out" between the two amps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHsvjOLTFGs

And here is a pretty good explanation between the differences in the tubes: https://humbuckersoup.com/tubes/differe ... -el34-6l6/

Find yourself a Quad Reverb Amp.

(then hire a couple of roadies to tote it around for you)
