need suggestion for speaker attenuator for my amps.

help, my wife is in nursing school and my loud noise keeps her from studying. i am looking at a THD hotplate purchase.
I have a fender twin 65 reverb, hotrod deluxe, blues junior and super champ (yea i have been getting lower powered through the years but not enough now).
i would like to get just one attenuator but my twin is 4 ohm and the others 8 ohm.
would an 8 ohm THD hotplate work for all with only a minor tone hit for the twin?
thanks,
dale

While I am not a fan of attenuators (I have tried most of them) I recommend a Weber Mass or Mini Mass. You can get them with a switch to change ohms.

In the new Guitar Player mag Sonny Landreth says he uses the Ultimate Attenuator. I've been looking into and it looks very promising.

It can handle different impedances but I can't find the exact specifications anywhere.

Why the weber? Did it muffle or change your tone?
