I just got a Vintage Amps boutique version of a Deluxe Reverb {I'll post some pics later}, and wondered if anybody has any favorite settings. I play mostly blues with a Tube Screamer and a Delay pedal in front of the amp. I'll be playing this amp mostly at home so I probably won't be able to crank it up to get that tube breakup that I always here about with this amp but I still want to get that bluesy grissel if you know what I mean. I had that sound pretty dialed in on a Marshall ATV 50, but this Deluxe is a much different animal, and thats in a good way. I play a HWY 1 strat into it. I've only had it for a couple days and I'm trying all kinds of different settings but thought someone here might help me out a bit. Thanks

I know somebody here owns a Deluxe Reverb and has some favorite settings. How 'bout a little love here?

Gosh...its such a simple amp, I don't really understand what you mean by settings...I mean, its so clean, unless you're pushing some hot humbuckers through it, its difficult getting much gain out of it without making your ears bleed, so I've found its more about getting the right pedals for it...I go through a Maxon tube screamer and Boss Bluse Driver, and both were modded pretty heavily...if not for that its just such a clean poppy amp, there's not much else to do with it (that I've found, at least). It's a WONDERFUL amp, don't get me wrong, but where gain's concerned, there's not much in its nature without some enhancement.

Yup, pops got it. Beautiful clean amp. One trick pony. But man! what it does, it does beautifully. As for settings? Bass, treble, reverb. Turn the bass up: it sounds great and has a lot of bass. Turn the treble up: it sounds great and is really bright. Turn up the reverb: you get the idea. I use a Fulltone Fulldrive II Mosfet for some great overdrive. Next, I want to get a Carbon Copy delay and a Fulltone Clyde deluxe wah. The tone itself though, I am totally content with. Georgeous!

You guys are right. Now that I have played and tinkered for about a month I have found great tones. The cleans are great no matter what the settings, but I was looking for a good greasy blues tone without having to blow the paint off the wall. I set the volume on 3, treble on 5, midrange on 7, bass on 10, reverb on maybe 2 and vibrato on 5. I use a tube screamer with the settings all on 12 oclock and wammer jammer, it sounds great. A strat sounds awesome and an Epi Les Paul gets you more gain. I think the bass at 10 is the key, it just kicks $@!!
