HI, I am going to buy a Super Champ XD this week with the footswitch. I read a post from Older Guy about how he used a cab that had 2 jacks so he could use the speaker inside the Fender at the same time. Here is the post:

As a new user, just wanted to share my experience with the Super Champ XD. I play primarily blues, both clean and overdriven. I use the amp with an Avatar 1 x 12 with a Celestion V30. The cab has two jacks, so I can plug the 10" speaker directly into the cab and use the other jack to connect the cab to the amp, thereby allowing for use of both speakers. I originally replaced the stock speaker with an Eminence Legend 1028K alnico, which was good, but then I read the rave reviews about the Eminence Lil' Buddy and tried that in place of the alnico. The hemp cone in the Lil' Buddy seemed quite dark and almost colorless right out of the box, but I have broken it in somewhat and, combined with the brighter V30, the overall tone has a much beefier, woodier character perfect for blues. The tone is also very responsive to the tone controls on both the amp and the guitar ('88 American Standard Strat), so it easy to brighten it up when necessary for a more typically Fender-type sound.

In short, I would highly recommend the Lil Buddy, but only in tandem with an external speaker that provides more tonal balance. I am thrilled with the tones I can get out of this amp now. I should also say I replaced the stock 12AX7 with an NOS GE.

Now, how can this be done....and is it possible to use a PA type for example a 12" or 15" with a horn for this purpose. It seems like this is possible but will await your expertise on this subject. Oh, any mods that can be done by this sortof mechanical musicman, would be appreciated. T

Thanks for listening to my first post and assisting me, Derrick

Well, I thought this was the fender forum where you discussed amps from 1985 til the present. Am I asking in the wrong area. If so, please direct me to the forum where they can tell you how to use an extension speaker with the one in your amp at the same time, Thanks, Derrick

Don't think you have the wrong forum, just might be not too many have tried to do this .

Though now you have got me thinking, I have a Traynor 2-15 cabinet might be interesting to try it.
Although I think the 215 only presents a 2ohm load and that might not be healthy for the amp.. Would need to open the cabinet work out the actual speaker load and then see what the amps can safely handle.
