Hello all, my church purchased a Fender BDRI amp, about 3 yrs ago, and has been working fine up until about 1 month or so.

It turns on, but it has to be at max volume to get any sound at all!
When at max volume you can hear the guitar very low and distorted.
And the tubes get very hot quick, I mean like max volume hot, even when the Amp is at 0 volume.

-I have replaced the output tubes and all 3 12ax’s in there to no avail.
-I have searched and searched online for anyone with the same symptoms as our amp, but it seems as though no one has ever documented the problem I’m having with the amp.

Any and all advice, help is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you in advance!

It doesn't sound like a tube problem. It doesn't sound like you're a tech, so im not gonna tell you to go poking around inside.
Test the speaker by plugging in a different one. Sometimes this can be done by placing another amp back to back and exchanging the plugs.
Another thing to try is to plug the guitar into the Power Amp In jack and see if you get better sound from there. That could help us pinpoint the area of the internal problems.
But if you can't make any progress there, it will need to see a tech. Good Luck!

I sold a 70's Vibro Champ to a fellow about 60 miles away. It worked fine for about a month and then there was hardly any volume.

To make a long story short............it was his guitar cord. Just a thought.

It is happened often it is not the amp itself.
