Hi,

I have a Super-Sonic combo 112 (which sounds great), but I just started recording with amps, as opposed to only plug instruments directly in my external sound card.

The manual states that damage can occur if using the amp with the main speaker unplugged. How can I plug the amp in my external card (using the preamp out, if even that is the best way), while also disabling the amp's speaker.

While at it, is it better to connect effect pedals (fuzz, delay, wah, etc..) through the send/return or just go guit > effects > amp input.

Thanks,

To disconnect the speaker, you must make and plug a dummy load to replace the speaker.

Easy to built : a 8 ohms ( or 10 ohms ) resistor and a jack. The resistor is now the speaker
Use at least 25 watts resistor

Thank you for your answer. Truly appreciated. I am not so big in electrical DIY, though. Never too late I guess.

Is that something that could be readily available? I can't seem to find anything like that, at least, not with a jack. All I find is with coax.

I decided to go the DIY way. Two 25watts 16 ohm (I think) in parallel which brings it down to 8 ohms.

Connected to a jack.

The meter showed 8 ohms and everything seems to work fine.

10$ solution that seems to do the trick.

Thanks again so much.

Cheers.

Great job, plus two 25 watts 16 ohms = 50 watts 8 ohms load :D
