newbie here, getting back into my guitar playng after 40 yrs out. I know amp settings are a tremendously personal field, but could someone please help me cut some of the trial & error?
I own a Sidekick65 reverb, I have a tubescreamer copy & a Joyo compressor pedal. and a bullet strat. I'm trying to get a smooth sustained overdrive, but failing miserably. please could anyone suggest some settings I could try?

The amp's organic "overdrive" mode (channel) should produce a pleasing, sustained tone on its own. Set your guitar's volume control wide open and try your neck pickup with the tone control rolled all the way off.

Hi Arjay, it worked I got a great sound after a bit of tinkering, I also got a great sound of my Les Paul copy too.

If you jacked up your amp's midrange tone knob, you're definitely on the right track. Easy on the presence control though -- too much with those cheapie pickups and you're liable to get some unintended and uncontrollable squeal.
