Hi,

Question for you all. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction maybe not.

I'm hunting the lead guitarist tone from the Van Halen song Love Walks In. I think that's Sammy who plays the solos not Eddie.

Anyway, I just purchased a 5150 III LBX II amp, a 1x12 evh cabinet, and at my disposal a few pedals (tubescreamer, chorus, reverb, and delay). Anyone have any advice on that specific tone for that song? Does it sound pretty overdriven? Chorusey? I'm really bad/new at tone matching so I am struggling a bit. Anyways, was just fishing for some advice.

Thank you,

First of all, welcome to the forums.
I don't know how much help this will be, but I know Hagar tends to play a lot through a single Seymor Duncan hummbucker with a lot of presence and a touch of fuzz. I could be wrong, but it's worth experimenting.
