Looking at a 2x10 Fender Concert and noticed the speakers looked odd, realized the Fender stickers may have been taken off.

The stamps look legit, just wondering if anyone has seen this and if these are in fact Fenders.

Thanks!

The numbers stamped on the magnets would be very revealing.

If only we could read them......

064121 is supposed to be a Fender part number for a "25 watt 10 inch speaker - any authorized manufacturer"

These 2 examples appear to be made by Pyle.

Numbers read

064121
1098233

Does that mean these are replacements or original to amp?

Correct.

I've seen that same P/N stamped on CTS alnico tens installed in Super Reverbs and Super Six Reverbs. And Pyle was briefly an authorized supplier of speakers to Fender during this era.

Interesting, I didn't know that. The wealth of knowledge on this forum is impressive.

Thank you!

The Concerts came with Eminence Speakers as stock. My 84 2x10 Concert has it's original speakers from new. IIRC Eminance had supplanted Pyle by this time but may have still been available as replacements. The P/S number on the Pyles pictured match the ones on my Eminences, so they are Fender procured at least.

FWIW

Nice! I just bought a Concert, actually not the one pictured, mine came with the blue sticker Fender speakers.

I love the clean channel, but wish it had the EQ of the drive channel. If I turn Drive down and use "Drive channel" as clean, is this the same as using clean channel? Or is it completely different circuitry? I always read how one channel is blackface etc..I don't really understand all of it, still learning how amps are put together...

Also what is the function of "Pull for ch select"?

And is there a way to engage reverb without footswitch?

(sorry for all the questions!)

From Concert owner manual:

CHANNEL SELECT - This two-position button
selects the active pre-amp channel:
button OUT > for Channel-1 > LED OFF
button IN > for Channel-2 > LED ON

Note: When the Footswitch is plugged in to the
FOOTSWITCH jack, CHANNEL SELECTION is possible
only from the Footswitch.

M. REVERB - Controls the Reverb level of both channels.
Note: Reverb can be toggled ON/OFF from the
Footswitch when it is plugged in.
N. SPEED - Controls Tremolo modulation

You're quite welcome.

If/when you tire of those Pyle's you might try a pair of Eminence Copperheads. They sound very tasty in most Fender platforms.

Another "Trick" with the Concerts is if you run a short 1/4 inch cord, like one used to connect stomp boxes, plug into both the input and output on the effects loop in the back. This way you can use the level knobs to bring in extra gain if you want as it brings in another gain stage that is unused unless something is plugged into it.
