Uh, if you reread this thread you'll notice I didn't initiate the hostilities. But so be it. Adios.

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out.

I find it difficult to believe that the gentleman's skin is that thin. All newbies get some ribbing, it's traditional. It also is meaningless, especially for someone with his lengthy perspective on Fender gear. Perhaps he'll have an epiphany and return. I certainly hope so.

The door missed my butt by a mile, but I wasn't exiting. I left the discussion that day for a while as I actually have a life outside of cyberspace. No thin skin here, happy to go toe to toe. But that's won't help anybody else by proving how snarky and clever I consider myself. Listen to the amp, don't listen to the amp, blather about anything but the topic, engage in intelligent discussion, do what you want.

The amp is great, it works well for gigging and recording for me, nails the sound of a vintage Twin, and help me make people smile at a gig yesterday. Will it be in a landfill someday? Could be. Will some of be taking a dirt nap someday? Yep, all of us. I don't think any of that is relevant. It is a tool for making music for me, that's all. It does what I need, I find the price acceptable for what it delivers. Yeah, it's partly manufactured in China and assembled in Mexico. I'm not prepared to live without goods made in China in my life so that fact doesn't bother me in the least. I've got a great sounding, lightweight, flexible tool that does exactly what I want. It was fantastic at my gig yesterday. And I earned a good portion of what it cost me to buy it. Combined with the amp I flipped when I ordered it the TM Twin is nearly completely covered. Another couple of gigs and I'll be even. From there it will help me make more money. Because it is a tool. And so are some of the wise guys that like to see their cleverness displayed on screens.

Folks: there's a lot going wrong with this particular thread. Was out on travel (to our LA office, actually) so have had a bit of a delayed response time here but now that I'm back: engaging Lock mode on this thread.

Generally, as we move forward I'd like to ask for a reduction of overall 'saltiness' on these forums - and that statement applies just as much for seasoned old-timers as it does for new participants.

In this case it's a new product and one that's sure to inspire opinions ... I get that. But ... no matter what the topic at hand I'm always, always fundamentally going to have a problem with an individual expressing fondness for a certain piece of gear and others here doing a big group smackdown telling that individual that he/her is wrong for [insert reason here]. Opinions are fine, but let's all work on delivery a bit if we can, old timers? :D
