I've heard that the Fender's tend to have a better clean sound, while the Marshall's have a little better distortion. So, it really comes down to what you want it to do.

I own a Fender Twin Reverb and a Marshall DSL 401. The clean tones and reverb on the Fender blow the Marshall out of the water. The Marshall wins in the crunch department. You should go test them both locally and see which sounds better to your ears and fits your style better.

There's not a huge difference between 10 and 15 watts. The Fender has a 8" speaker and the Marshall has a 6.5" speaker. The 8" speaker will push more air and sound louder anyway. They're both practice amps. Neither is a good example of what Fender or Marshall sound like. I would save a little more money and get something better. A GDec or GDec Jr would be a more versatile practice amp. I have a 76 Twin, Hot Rod Deluxe, and a 74 Champ, but my GDec is the most fun. It will help you practice more efficiently instead of just noodling.
Just a little info, a 5 watt tube amp will blow away a 15 watt solid state amp.
Whatever you do, try them both out and then decide. Bring your own guitar too.
Good Luck

Here's a few user reviews for the Frontman 15 G.

I'd still save up a little more cash.

This is just my own personal experiance with the MG line. I had an MG30DFX a little while back, but got rid of it.... The clean was good, but I found the distortion was to over the top and just didnt have a good sound. I know I'm not alone in that..... I've read several other reviews saying the same thing.

I now have a Deville 410 and love it, but that isnt the type of amp you are looking for. I'd do as someone else suggested and go play a few in the store.... Just play it the same as you would at home so you get the full feeling and sound from it.

Personaly, I love the Fender amps....

if you want a combination of both, choose the vox. Nice distortion from the pathfinder or DA5. I played through a marshall, really nice. I would only play through fender if it was tube. I didn't here the best things about their solid state. Maybe the GDEC.

But i would go with the marshall if those are the two you're down to.
