Sorry man.
I've been in that position too many times to count.

((( heavy sigh )))

Great detail and thanks for the follow up, Matt.

That’s a nice piece of gear in your collection. I know what you mean by inconvenience as opposed to a problem that prevents you from using your gear.

I too have an inconvenience that intermittently rears it’s ugly head when switching presets. Warranty after 5 years ran out and I never thought to extend it as it was hard to get the dog to roll over (if ya know what I mean), and unlike the extended L&M warranty on the Taylor, a free included axe setup isn’t of much use, especially if you already have a couple standing by. I only use the Mustang IV in house anyhow.

I like that you have great distortion and multiple compressor flexibility with your Helix. I like how you set it up.

When my Mustang is turned on it defaults to Preset position 000 rather than the last preset used before powering down. It came with a full packed preset (which I thought was nice but useless) in that position and volume was up; but, I copied, deleted, and cleaned it up making the volume off and now it silently turns on in that position, which I can kick in or out of at will. I then rearranged the presets in genres and/or years. Acoustic and Clean, Movies, Jazz, Blues, Country, Surf, 50s, 60s, 70s, Rock, Amps, and others. Digital rocks in this organizing. Some presets within a group have more than one version of the artist or a song back to back. I, like you, left some presets to swap for organizing, or to experiment with (also handy for backup as I wanted some control without dependence on Fuse which became just another feature). The Expression pedal is more of a concern because it is Fuse dependant for setup should the amp change. We’ll see if that is or isn't affected in the future.

I often choose a slow learning curve, except for the majority of time when my ability and skills are slow no matter what. When I first got the Strat and amp, I played some; but, what I really wanted is to first learn and feel the capability of the guitar and amp. I wanted to delve deeply into the workings of the Mustang, and I wanted to mess with playing style and tone of the guitar. It’s similar to playing versus beating drums. Dynamics, subtleties, and full use of your instrument can be a powerful lesson and tool. It doesn’t mean you’ll want or need everything, but you’ll know the options and have a better appreciation for it IMHO. It can, at least in my case, be beneficial to add to that technique or skill that you have or may not have. Either way it can only be better. I can see that you are of that mindset too, Matt. I think a lot of players miss that. Not surprising, since a lot of, but not all, over heavy bass beaters in cars miss the subtleties too. :P
You are so right about moderation. I find a lot of things can benefit from enhancement; but, only when you’ve saturated the process and tweaked it with less here and more there will you come to your sweet Eureka!

Looks like Long Cool Woman will have a long cool future in your hands. 8)

Note: I have a TC Helicon VoicePlay Live GTX pedal with 500 presets for voice and guitar. It also uses a similar preset software solution. You can change your presets and download professional ones from TCH. Firmware updates and conversions are also involved. Swapping presets with other users I don’t believe is possible, but I haven’t checked that out across their offerings. Not the same, but it is still pretty robust, adds to, organizes, updates, and manages presets with effects, and for some time it simply works without a hitch and is current. TCH took a different approach with design and support. A pretty stable example to follow or at least look at methinks.

I have a friend with a VoiceLive 3.
He only uses it for vox.
It works great on vox.
I have a much earlier and less complicated TC vocal harmonizer which I should use more often.
I've tried to encourage him to explore the guitar processing capabilities of the VL3 but he never does.
Doesn't matter.
He's got a great setup with great sound.

That VL3 is very nice, and I agree about the skookum guitar effects. If anything they are very clean, and I think your friend is missing out, and so is his audience with the toy box of guitar effects available; but, you’re right. Who’s to say as it’s a personal vibe, and we can’t argue with success. I’m a little biased as I kinda like what the old homeboys came up with in Victoria, B.C.

Guitar effects are like a ride on the carousel. Do you always pick one trick pony or do you jump on another for fun? I’m liking what I see and hear about these new Fender pedals also, and I’d be happy to take some off their hands.
Were TC Helicon’s gear crap I wouldn’t even mention it; but, the quality and build is mighty fine. I gotta say that when it comes to vocal pedals, TCH has proven itself on the big stage and from the coffee shop gig to Grammy studios. I don’t feel bad about mentioning this here because TCH and Fender have similarities; but, they are a different company in many ways, and it shows in vocal pedals and TCH’s direction in that arena, though they are no slouch in other goodies either.

Yeah, VL has auto tune (HardTune), but you’d be wrong to think it makes you a better singer. It does not. It helps just like eq and compression can be an aid. But, that’s another matter.

Your TC vocal harmonizer is part of the family and well liked. If ya liked it before and it worked well I’d use it again, Matt. The best thing I think any musician can do is to test the waters for audience reaction. That’ll steer ya in the right direction.
How does this relate to Fuse? We just want it to work. :D
. . . but, you put it eloquently.
“It is what it is.”

So, somebody moved this thread here from the lounge.
No explanation.
No reason why here and not in the Mustang forum.
LOL
Strange goings on.

Hitting the nail on the head, here.

I've only recently figured out how to remote Cyber amps; I typed up most of journey on creating a remote control on this forum (and much more info on another forum). Closing the doors on giving folks the ability to discuss a product (still on the shelves, nonetheless!) seems odd.

I certainly have never expected direct, official support from Fender on this forum.

Further, this out with the old; bring on the new is pretty silly. Does anyone think Fender will stop making Teles, Strats or HRDs? Or Princetons and Twins? Not likely. Just be wary of the "new things" that "make things easy". I mean, I don't even know what Fuse is!

Strange indeed.
I guess "Fuse" WAS introduced on Modern Guitar Amplifiers (1985 - Current), so I suppose I should have put it here to begin with. Save the Lounge for all the 'Good Mornings', 'Good Nights', and Weather Reports.

There is no more Fuse sub-forum...at least not one that members can post on. It is locked.

I am a little surprised that the passing of Fuse is getting so much attention in August 2019.

Fuse was a goner six years ago. It was written in Microsoft Silverlight and MS dropped support for shortly after the Mustang V2’s were released.

I think the surprise here has to do more with why didn't Fender "officially" stop supporting it six years ago, but wait until July 23, 2019 to make the announcement. Particularly since they are still selling products that utilize that software today?

Will I go out and buy a Passport mini, or SuperChamp X2? Not bloody likely.

I see the Mustang (12345) forum is not locked.
I also see two Mustang amps still listed on this site that do not appear to be the "GT" Mustangs.
