I've been playing this amp for years. I love it. But recently, it blew a fuse, and I found out it was because I had inadvertently switched the output power from 100 watts to 25 watts. Since it's been new, I've had JJ 6L6 tubes in it (70mv bias, no problems). I took the amp out of the cabinet so I could visually inspect it and make sure there were no obviously fried resistors or anything visibly wrong. Looked OK. I replaced the fuse, put the Output switch back to high (100 watt). I played through it for about a half hour ... no problems. I swithed back to the 25 watt position. after about 5-10 minutes I noticed the tone was pretty muddy, no clean highs any more, and just not sounding right. While I was trying to figure that out, the fuse blew again. Now I could smell how hot the tubes were. But still no signs of any component damage.
At this point I began to wonder if it could be the 6L6 tubes (or at least one of them). I decided to put the original Fender Groove tubes back in and adj the bias to 65mv. I played it for ~45 minutes, no problems. Now I'm having a dilemma. I don't really want to try switching back to the 25 watt output, because I don't want to damage the original Groove tubes, but if the problem was just one or more of the JJ's going bad, the Groove Tubes should have fixed that.
Any seasoned veterans out there with a suggestion on what I should do or check next?

Anxious what to do!
