Only if it has a “headphone output jack”.

Kind of a crazy rig but.....

1. Connect PRE OUT to any mixing board (large or small) that has a headphone out

2. Connect your headphones to the headphone out on the mixing board

:)

Also need to insert a shorted dummy plug into the PWR OUT jack, if you want silent practice.

I think PWR IN is for connecting the output of another amp to the FM65R. There is no PWR OUT as far as I know. I'm not sure if the proposed rig above would allow you to mute the amps speaker or not.

My bad -- yes, you'd need a dummy plug in the PWR IN jack.

An open dummy would also work, but could introduce some noise.

Just a plug with no cable attached. A shorted dummy has the terminals connected together (the terminals where the cable would connect).

There's a switch in the PWR IN jack that connects the preamp to the power amp. Inserting a plug into the PWR IN opens that connection, so the power amp doesn't receive the preamp signal.

+1
I have the "Clean" version and am very surprised how good the sound quality is. Very versatile with several effects and modes. Vox makes several AmPlug2 headphone amps for different sounds (AC30, Clean and others).

There are several different brands, some as low as fifteen bucks or so.

Your amp through headphones won't sound like your amp through its speaker. Headphones are hifi and full-range, so the sound will be very harsh, very bright, very cold.

Amps with good headphone jacks have "speaker/cab emulation" to simulate the sound of the speaker.

Running it through a mixer won't fix that. The mixer's tone controls/EQ might let you get a barely tolerable sound, but it won't be exactly like the amp through the speaker.
-------------------
The mixer suggestion was kind of lighthearted. He was just saying that almost nothing is impossible, and that there are possible ways to connect headphones to your amp.

But it wasn't meant to be a suggestion of what you should do. Certainly not a suggestion to run out and buy a mixing board just to use for headphones.

You'd be far better off buying a little headphones-only amp.

That will work great as long as you have an iPhone or iPad or iPod to connect it to.
