I’m playing though my PRRI and since it has no effect loop, which delay pedal is going to sound the best plugged straight through the front of the amp?

Thanks, G - Man.

It depends on what your preference is.
If you like the warm sound of analogue, nothing beats the MOOG MF-Delay.
It is pretty much the cream of the crop in analogue delay.
Not much else competes with it but it is pricey.
Only a full size MOOG would be superior and that would be REALLY pricey.
A much lesser pedal but also a much, much more popular favourite and for much less money is the MXR Carbon Copy.

If you like the sound of digital there are lots of options.
T.C. is always a good choice.
Strymon is a better choice but more money.
"Best" depends on your budget and your preference.

Thanks, I don’t want to put a whole lot of money into one just to find it sounds horrible through the front of the amp which is the only choice I have.

Delay doesn't have to go into a loop just because it's a time based effect.
It is quite happy to sit in front of the amp input.
Place it later in your chain.
Definitely after any gain/drive boxes.
I rarely use a delay that way anyway.
Usually it's in front of the input.
I actually prefer it that way.
Sounds warmer to my ears.
I'll put other time based units in a loop.
Things like verb, flange, chorus, etc.
If you are inexperienced with delay and worried you won't like the sound of it then by all means experiment with lower models but if you know you like delay and your concern is quality of tone then I wouldn't worry too much about the placement.
That part isn't mission-critical.

that is indeed the conventional wisdom. Steve Vai chooses to use his delay before Gain. It gives a totally different dynamic. IMO, after trying it both ways, I liked Steve's delay position better for lead parts, but worse for rhythm parts. I think the better "all around use" solution is Delay after Gain.

you want yer delay to sound good?
try wet/dry
surely vai uses more than one amp, regardless of signal chain placement
try a couple of amps with 100% wet and you will experience an enormous improvement

and also a world of possible electric power issues (ground loop)

Yep, in fact he mentions that in the video above. Wet/dry is awesome but can get a little pricey and difficult to transport to a gig.
