Hi! I'm searching and trying amp for about 2 years, i'm tired of playing with crappy amps! I actually found the amp i was looking for, a fender supersonic... the problem is... it's way too loud! Price is not a factor, i'm willing to pay the price for an outstanding sound. What should i do? Buy a supersonic and play it with the volume at 2, and trying to lift that beast for each pratice that i do or get something smaller. But wich amp would have the same quality as the supersonic but smaller.

I'm also looking at the Blues deluxe... but the distortion is not so great and also at the SCXD. I need some opinion!

Thanks!

If price is not a problem, try a 57 Deluxe Reissue. It's a 5e3 tweed circuit and around 15 watts. You will not need any distortion boxes at all. It's lives and breathes.

The blues deluxe is a great amp but it is not an amp I would chose for marshall distortion. (which is what it sounds like you're looking for if you say a blues deluxe distortion is not that good)

I have a blues deluxe and it is perfect for me. The distortion is perfect for blues.

Why not just visit an amp superstore and listen to a variety of amps. I'm sure they'll be glad to assist someone when "money is no object".

: )

If price is no problem I would get either the (57) Tweed Twin or the Vibro King, both offer matching speaker cab extensions. 8)

ok.. you said price is not a factor.. well then if you want a great amp with great distortion you may wanna consider not a fender.. haha no im kidding. fender amps can have some of the most gorgeous overdriven sounds on the market BUT in order to get that driven sound the volume has to be pretty high. So if your looking for a smaller amp with complete distortion.. try Divided by 13, or Orange. Sorry fender Fans!!

Another option is always getting a good fender amp, then buying effects pedals!! which is a whole other story for a whole other forum!

You'll never get Marshall distortion from a Fender Amp period, just like you'll never get a Fender clean from a Marshall.

Do you guys have any sugestion for good distortion pedal... i have a boss DS1.. but it's a 50$ pedal, it does the job but it's not great!

I couldn't agree more with this statement! And so it depends on the type/style of music that you play.

I love the Blues Deluxe Reissue, and you are correct about the 'distortion'- it is better described as mild overdrive. This amp works well with pedals, and my favorite (along with thousands of other musicians) is an Ibanez TS-9 tubescreamer. There as several other variations of this pedal (808, turbo, and a Keeley modified), but it is a very popular choice with a great sound. It's probably not for 'metal', but great for most others. Using this amp with this pedal allows you to play clean, mildly overdriven, and with variable distortion, all at the touch of your foot. Lots of versitility here.

Test drive all that is available to you- a Guitar Center is a good store to do this.

Lots of luck.

A really cool pedal is the Electro Harmonix Emglish Muffin. It uses a 12ax7 preamp tube that you can swap out. Very versatile box. Remember, only you know what you're looking for. Try them before you by them and use your guitar whenever possible.
