I need a footswitch for my EVH 5150 III 100W as mine was lost. It's hard to find a footswitch for the 100W model. Will a footswitch for the 50W model work? I believe it's the same input.

You're right, they're different. Is there any way to check if a different footswitch (for 3 channel amps and the same cable) would work with this amp model? Other than plugging it in of course. Do the circuits inside differ much?

Footswitch circuits do vary a lot. Many are simple, physical on/off switches with multiple independent conductors. Those are cheap and often interchangeable.

But the modern Fenders use electronic logic controls. Notice that multiple functions use just a 2-conductor speaker cable? The amp sends a voltage to the pedal, and the footswitches activate diodes and resistors inside the pedal to change the voltage. Then the amp "reads" the changed voltage, which triggers relays inside the amp.

Some other manufacturers use similar tech, but their own circuits. So not interchangeable with Fender.

Will some of the other modern Fender pedals work? Without looking at the schematics, no idea. But the other Fender pedals are all fairly expensive, so no point in taking risks. (Might not work at all, or maybe the switch marked "channel" might turn on the vibrato instead.)

Regarding expense, there's fairly complex circuitry in the modern Fender pedals, with quality footswitches and rugged enclosure. It's not just switches, some wires, and a box like simple pedals.

Without looking at a schematic ( amp and pedal) I'don't know.

To do this, it take time..if all schematic are available
