Hello Fender Community!
I had a gig last night, and the drive channel was completely dead (footswitch worked ok). Had to cover through the clean channel with a Marshall Bluesbreaker, which in my opinion is not a patch!
I'm sure that this is an easy fix for a more technically minded Fender aficionado, but I only play the thing.
Any help and guidance would be VERY much appreciated.
Cheers!

Its very unusual for relays to fail if they indicate the channel is switching.
More likely its a tube failure. Sub in a new v2 .

On Blues Deluxe all tubes are for both channel ; clean and drive channel.
Clean channel work.

The Blues Deluxe is *NOT* a two-channel amp. What it is is a single-channel amp with two operational modes. The V2 tube is an additional switchable gain stage that is series-cascaded into the signal path when the "drive" mode is selected. Thus, the tube in the V2 socket could conceivably have gone south but the amp continues to play fine in the clean mode.

Tim you must be right but looking schematic, I can't see how V2 is not also used on clean :(

Many thanks to both of you for your time and expertise. I shall try switching V1 & V2 tubes first as this would seem to be the most simple start point. After that, the relay; but that would be a little beyond my capabilities, so may need the help of a mate.
Many thanks again!

Switching V1 and V2 won't work if V2 is bad, IMO

If TimAudio is right, ( and he is the pro here ) you must put a new tube in V2

Strat - no, but it will prove whether it is the tub or not, as I assume after switching, the clean channel will be dead?

You are right, with a bad tube, both " channels" will be dead.

yes, v2 is used for both “channels’, so the likely issue is with the solder joints around the 5 watt ceramic resistors.
