Hey guys, I just got a 1965 Super Reverb reissue today, and it sounds amazing, but has one major problem THE REVERB DOESNT WORK!!! Its very frustrating to get a brand new amp and not have the reverb on it work!

has anyone here ever had problems with their reverb? What would you recommend I do?

SpartanEagle- I’m jealous! I just ordered one from Guitar Center on Tuesday; but, it hasn’t shown up yet. This is very basic, so don’t take this as an insult (I’ve been reading the operating instructions from the net). Did you check the footswitch? If that doesn’t work, try putting a piece of black electrical tape, over Reverb on the faceplate (that’s a joke :D ).

Have you tried any effects pedals with your new amp, if so, what are you using and how do they sound?

Congratulations on the new amp!

Hey YeeHaw, no worries about the reverb on the amp, I opened up the back and found a loose cable, a little soldering and it was perfect!

The Super Reverb is truly amazing!! I have a fulltone fulldrive2 and it sounds amazing with the Super, especially with a little Dynacomp compression you really get some nice sustain! And of course this amp is known to be great with the TS-808!

I play lots of blues/rock but I'm in an alternative rock band so one of the worries that I had was that it woudlnt sound great with high gain pedals but I was wrong! I plugged in a Big Muff and I've never heard the Muff sound so SWEET!! It was surprisingly perfect, not too boomy and not too trebly! I have yet to try it out with my pro co rat but so far its everything I ever wanted!

You wont be dissapointed!

I really want to get one of the TS-808s; anytime SRV did a Hendrix cover, the tone he got out of his rig was incredible. From what I’ve read, the Tube Screamers really contributed to the overall effect. One thing that has puzzled me, is why he would link two of them in series? Does it double the effect?

Nuts! The UPS truck drove past my house again…

i believe he used one tubescreamer to push his amp harder, and then he used the other one to boost it further for solos.
he also often duct taped two wahs together (i.e. studio version of Say What!)
for a super wah sound. man i love SRV!
im thinking my next amp will be a super reverb.
