Reviving this old thread because there is a comment made by Randall Smith that dresses the common assumption that MESA/Boogie is a metal only amp company. When I heard him say it I thought of this thread and some of the comments made here.

It begins with a question about his process for coming up with new designs, somewhere around the 25 minute mark. The conversation that follows that question confirms (in my mind) what I said above about the MESA versus Boogie thing.

Since I can't think of another place to put this and I don't think it warrants a whole new thread, I thought I would point out to our amp loving folks here that it looks like Celestion has come out with a new speaker called the Ruby. I'm going to be watching for demos and comparos in the future. I'm curious to see how and where it compares to a Blue or Gold.
