So what's with this?
Some local shops are advertising a new Bassbreaker 30R with 2 channels, 3 band EQ on both, gain knob on channel 2 and a high gain switch, and reverb!
Has 4 el84 and 3 x 12ax7 and 1 x 12 V Type.
Black Tolex and salt pepper grill.
Sound awesome and might be a welcome addition after the poor reception of the 18/30.

Strange thing is that Fender has no info on their own website and no anouncement yet.

Great.
I always like to see new products instead of Series 2, 3, IV, of the same amp.
No doubt a new NAMM release. I'm surprised no mention of the new Champion 50XL amp on this forum.
Anyway the new Bassbreaker 30R looks like a needed upgrade to the Bassbreaker series.
Perhaps an amp worth owning out of that Series. Reminds me of a Peavey Classic 30 with the 4 EL84 output tubes.

The 50XL appears to be a modeling amp with dumbed down controls. I think Fender might have damaged their reputation as a modeling amp option by:

(1) Releasing Mustang v1 which had a problem with the power amp they used. But Fender at first wouldn't admit there was a problem and didn't take responsibility until pissed of customers started flaming their forum.

(2) Forcing entire products into being obsolete before their time so they can cash in again on the same customers.

(3) Releasing yet another buggy modeling product with a poorly coded Android/iOS app and no desktop app. (Mustang GT).

3 strikes, you're out. Oh and this looks terrible IMO. It's so plain and ugly. Kind of a sad end to a decent line of amps:

+1000

I'm surprised that Fender even deigned to put a logo on it!

Will it become their first discontinued product of 2019?
