I have a Hot Rod Deluxe III purchased new from Guitar Center in 2013. There is a loud buzzing/humming/crackling noise when the bright switch is engaged.

The only troubleshooting I have done so far is swap out preamp and power tubes, to no avail.

Has anyone had experience with this?

If the noise goes away when you engage the Drive channel, it might be a leaky C4, .068.
If it doesn't make much it much different, its probably a damaged switch. Its a fragile little thing. But they're cheap and available.
Anybody drop a beer on it? They'll never tell.

Thank you!

Tested per your recommendation and buzzing goes away with drive switch engaged.

Where can i buy the correct capacitor for C4: .068 100V?

I’d like to try and just solder a new capacitor in myself.

If you never done this job and you don't have any skill in electronics don't do it.

Look at some video before ;
