This is my first post on this forum. I’m a long time fender player and amp owner, and my 65 Deluxe is the best!

My 8 year old son is playing now, and a friend gave him a Mustang 1 v 3.2 a year or so ago. He tried to use it this morning, and it doesn’t turn on at all. I tried different outlets that were powering other things, so I know they are good. I checked the power cord with my multimeter, and it is getting voltage at the plug end.

Last time he used it there were no issues, and it turned on and powered down normally.

Currently there are no lights coming on and nothing on the display.

Are there any suggestions? Is there a fuse internal that can be changed?
Thanks in advance for any advice! I want to get the little man playing ASAP!

Darryl

Schematic show a 1.6 amp fuse inside the amp. It is a Time delay fuse

Replace by the same one, no more powerful.

The old Fender Mustang amp series came with a 5 year limited warranty. Worth looking into if it was purchased from a retailer within the last 5 years. That warranty is transferable from original owner to subsequent owners. Helps to have the original sales receipt, but a company that doesn't suck would honor the warranty either way.

You must use meter to check, by eyes only you may not see.
Or put a good one. Always buy few fuses, not only one.

Slow blow fuses seldom falsely fail. If the fuse is blown, its probably for a good reason. Its probably not worth fixing.

Any luck getting your Mustang 1 to power up ?

I just bought a used one...work fine, but I'd like to know how to fix something like this if this same thing happened to mine.

You say yours is a Mustang 1 ver 3.2 ? I thought there was only a verson 1 or a version 2.

No return ?

Mister D,
As TimAudio write, Its probably not worth fixing.
$150 new.

If fuse blow, try a new fuse, if new fuse blow, throw away the amp :(
