Hey everyone!

Sorry if this Is the wrong place to post this/

Just a last attempt at sorting a slight issue I've been having with the amp before I take it to a tech.
Unfortunately my amp, whilst on ch3 (red), has lost it's low end a few days ago along with volume (almost as if the mids and resonance were severely cut to oblivion), to which, naturally, I thought it was a preamp tube that went bad. After swapping in a new tubes to the various positions for ch3 (v4, v5, v6 IIRC) there was no change to the problem. However then I noticed something strange. When I dial back the HIGH eq the low end and volume returns (but obviously am cutting highs then). Turning the HIGH up to near full and a lot of the volume then vanishes again with the low end. There is the odd occasion where it seems the low end returns intermittently very shortly (for maybe 2 seconds). I was just wondering what anyone's thoughts on what it could be or if anyone has experienced this before I run it to an amp tech.

Cheers!

P.S. was a bit annoyed it happened now, as it was my final payment on the amp last month hahaha! :P

Channel 3 has its own string of preamp circuits, but the description of the problem points to the tone stack.
The first suspect is the treble control itself. Contamination, a loose rivet , broken substrate or a bent wiper could be disconnecting the bass side of the treble control.
Try pulling gently on the treble knob to see if the low end comes back. If there is more end play on it than the other controls, it is probably damaged.
