friend was over the other night and I let him play through my frontman. he really liked it, so he did a quick search online and could not find any for sale.

I think the Frontman series was supplanted by the new Champion line.

No more Frontman.
There are many Frontman over the years, some are all black and some are grey and black. Are they same ? Wich one did you try ?

Look on the second hand market , $100

I still see 'used' ones for sale on Craigslist, Reverb, eBay, and Guitar Center's used gear.
Mostly 212's.
I had a Front man 65R back in the early or mid 2000's, but I had to return TWO of them, because they burned out quick. Shortly after my horrible experience, the 65R completely disappeared from manufacture and off the shelves with not a word by Fender.
A complete recall without controversy (none that I heard any way...they just no longer exsisted).

I've had a Frontman 15G for about a decade now. Traded an old Ibanez/Westone (neck/body) guitar for it, to take on the road with me when I was an over-the-road truck driver. Now that I work local, I just use it on my work bench to test and tune guitars that I'm working on. Always has worked nicely, and sounds great on the clean side...distortion...well; let's just say I have plenty other amps.

A couple years ago Fender happily replaced my Frontman 212R under warranty with my choice of a Champion 100 or a Mustang 3 V2. Though a shipping SNAFU I ended up with a Mustang IV V2 which Fender graciously let me keep.

I actually would have been upset with that trade. A Frontman 212R is a pure Solid State amp, Champion 100 is a Solid State amp with built in effects and Mustang III is a 'Modeling' amp.
Frontman 212R is a simple no-nonsense amp, and would have been the reason I bought it.
The Champion 100 is a GREAT amp that most likely replaced the Frontman, and other 100 watt double 12" speaker amps like Ultimate Chorus (my personal favorite Solid State amp of all time), and can be used easily without activating any of the built in effects; so that would have been my choice if I had been forced to accept the offer you were made.
Never have liked the Mustang. I Have a Mustang IV that I traded a 12 string guitar for. The guitar wasn't selling, so I just made the trade. Now the amp isn't selling and I have it priced at just over a third of what it would cost new. Just too damn big and loud for me. I can definitely see why people like them...sound great, and lots of options...but I have a Super Champ X2 if I wanna play around with Fuse.
Enjoy the Mustang IV (the Mustang III shouldn't even been on the table, because if we're being fair, it only has one 12" speaker)---you absolutely made out for the better money wise.

To my surprise, GC has the FM212DSP in stock.

https://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender/FM- ... Effects.gc

This is a Frontman 212R with built in digital effects, similar in a couple respects to the Champion 100.

Oh yah! I forgot about the DSP until just now.
Aside from one review 2 years ago (and he admitted he's had the amp for years) the reviews range from 7 to 12 years old. I'm surprised Guitar Center still has new ones.
