Does anyone have an opinion on amp stands? My 68 Custom Deluxe seems to make odd noises when I place it onto an amp stand (3 point stand). The tubes don't seem to like being in the "laid back/grille facing upward" position. However, when I place the amp upright on just a solid, flat/stable wood table (excuse the rhyming) the amp start up sounds (power on, standby on) etc. appear substantially diminished. Even the "popping sound" when placing the amp into standby appears lessened. Is this something anyone else has experienced? Any observations on this issue are welcome! Thanks all.

Audible issues such as those may be more of a mechanical/kinetic problem rather than something electronically generated. Check all the "usual suspects"......reverb tank securely anchored to the bottom of the cabinet, tranny and speaker screws snug, handle, baffle board, and back panels good and tight.

don't rule out vibrations from objects in the room. Are you always setting up in the same place, or is this at various gigs/locations?

if you have the amp close to a wall, try moving it away from the wall if possible and see if the artifacts you're hearing go away. Small rooms are tough, because the whole room can cause a standing wave.
