Hey y’all, I’m new here. I have a Blues deluxe reissue a little over 2 years old. I’ve replaced the 12 with a Celestion vintage 30 but, tubes and everything else is stock. I gig with this amp a lot and play a lot of country, with clean leads..such as Vince Gill and etc..whenever it’s my time to shine and I goose my volume pedal the amp is just nasty like the speaker is distorting. Am I asking to much from it?? Could it be tube issue?? Do I need to just give up and get a twin or ext cab? My ultimate goal is to be loud enough to get over our band and maintain a clean lead tone. Any help would be appreciated.

While the preamp tubes may be operating, the quality of the music coming out of the tube is variable.
Try a JJ ECC83s with the gold label in the V1 position. While its more expensive, it has less noise and cleaner tones.
When you turn up the volume, its not unusual to have to adjust the tone controls because upper and lower frequency harmonics become audible at higher volumes. Turn down the bass and turn up the mids.
If you want to take clean a step farther, plug your guitar into a DI box for bass or acoustic guitar inserted into the Power Amp in jack.
Almost all Fender amps have a tone control that distorts through the midrange. Known as a tone stack, it adds an edge or shimmer to music for a distinctive rock tone.
The makers of country amps use a simpler tone control that doesn't distort. The DI box bypasses the tone stack, and uses clean tone controls for country or jazz tone.

If you're playing country music with clean leads (ie: Vince Gill, Chet Atkins, Roy Clark, Charlie Daniels, etc) the LAST speaker I would recommend regardless of amp brand is a Celestion V30. Tim has offered some excellent advice as far as your amp goes but I would recommend a speaker replacement before implementing any other upgrades or alterations. Try a JBL K120 or one of Weber's California series drivers. Both offer full-range bass, very articulated mids, and shimmering highs. And both are very efficient so your amp doesn't have to work as hard to deliver the required volume.

Blues Deluxe is a 40 watts amp , Celestion Vintage 30 ; 60 watts

Weber California series 80 watts ; sure it is a better power than the Celestion wich is under power for a Blues D.
Tim is very qualified.

I'll go for a 100 watts speaker, but I don't know Weber California series

Before buying another speaker, you may want to have amp's idle bias setting checked. Your tonal symptoms are similar to a too-hot biased amp.

[any side bets, the OP never responds]

I would not say that and checking bias is most of the time a headache for all guitar player.
Volume at 6 is a lot of power
