I bought a 1996 HRDx at a garage sale for 100 bucks a few years ago. It needed a cap job, so I went ahead and did Fromel's supreme mod kit on the amp. It sounds amazing. Fast forward to now, and all of a sudden both the reverb and the effects loop do not work. I noticed the reverb first. Swapped the tank and ruled that out. Checked tank connections, everything looks good. Just no reverb. Then I noticed that the effects loop had stopped working too. Neither the send or return. I popped the board out, drained the caps, and had a look and everything LOOKS fine to my eye. But I admittedly don't know a whole lot about what I'm looking at. I'm just fairly handy with a soldering iron and can follow directions.

Any advice?

Are everything was working in the amp before the mod ?
Yes or no ?

Fromel supreme mode kit is a very big job and if you are not a tech( or don't have a great skill in electronic ) you may have doing some mistake or broken something in printed circuit.

A customer bring me this kit to mod his HRD. No way I don't want to do the job. Amp circuit is too fragile.

By the way, a 1996 amp don't need a cap job if working fine.

The amp didn't work before I did the mod (lots crackle and pops), and worked perfect for almost 2 years after, so it wasn't anything I did in the mod, unless possibly a solder joint that wasn't very strong and got rustled loose? I didn't see anything though.

Check the soldering on the white 5 watt resistors. These provide power to the +-16 volt supply that powers the op amps. They commonly overheat and crack their connections.
If it gets bad enuf, it affects channel switching too.

I checked the resistors. They're good. It's something else...

I checked voltage on the opamps. 16v's each on poles 4 and 8. So those are getting power just fine.

I'm baffled.

Are you sure you know how to check resistors and their solder ? You have some experience in amp repair / electronic ? You write no.

Something wrong in the power supply for sure.

You need to let it get "hot" run it for 30 min-hour and check voltages again. Check all the major test points vs the schematic for 10% or greater deviations and reflow any adjoining solder joints with bad readings or just reflow all the joints.
