If you could pick 3 pedals for your Hot Rod 4 playing a Telecaster what would they be? I’m looking for primarily country and southern rock info.

Thanks!

OD/Dist - Rockett Archer or even better - Strymon Riverside

Classic Fender Reverb and Tremolo in a single box- Strymon Flint

EQ (final tone shaping - last in signal chain) - Source Audio 4-Channel EQ

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Ditto, but I'd go with a Cry Baby instead of the EQ if I were limited to only 3.

One slot would be taken up by a good quality tuner, but I assume you want 3 "exciting" pedals. So tuners aside ...

1. Boss Compressor CP-1X
I can't even tell you how much this pedal improves the sound of ANY rig. It's magical.

2. Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9
I've been using mine to do the "SRV trick" where you crank the volume knob all the way up and leave the drive low. Getting some great sounds that way, not sure I can ever go back.

3. A delay pedal of your choice
I like an analog delay for a classic sound, but you may have other needs.

That amp has built-in reverb, no? Honestly it was a tossup between delay and tremolo for me. I love my tremolo pedal.

I would get a Boss Blues Driver for boost and tone control to give the Fender guitar the power and tone of hum-bucking. I would use a Digitech Digiverb as the reverb, and a tube distortion stomp for overdrives. Those would be my three.
